Does Curiosity Lead to Happiness?
Can a book help you find happiness? Can we even define happiness? A subject matter search of the library’s collection using “happiness” uncovers 198 titles. I’m surprised. I thought there would be many more.
One researcher, Todd Kashdan, Ph.D., believes curiosity leads to happiness. In his book Curious? he asserts that joy, purpose and personal growth happen when we are mindful, when we explore what’s novel and when we live in the moment and embrace uncertainty. He says those of us who seek certainty and control and who stay snug in our comfort zones, are not on the path to happiness.
