If you are out in the Burke area Saturday morning, stop by the new Burke Centre Library at 5935 Freds Oak Road, just off the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100). A ribbon cutting ceremony will officially open the branch at 11 a.m. followed by a day of music and fun for the whole family.

I recommend "Horseplay: A Novel" by Judy Reene Singer. I haven't laughed out loud while reading a book in such a long time. The characters are so alive in my mind that I can picture them and wish that the women in the apartment over the boarder's barn were my friends. The book has a fabulous ending that the main character, Judy Van Brunt, deserves. If you want a fun summer book that reminds you of close female friendships and you won't be able to put down, read Horseplay: A Novel!
